“Marsh Conners” and “Dave Reardon” have been an adventure team for six years, taking the wildest and most perilous jungle assignments available. When they receive two assignments at once, they decide to split up with Reardon going to the jungles of the Amazon and Connors to the Congo. Reardon's expedition meets disaster. The only survivor, he finds the lost city he has been seeking. But his amazing adventures in it - his witnessing of human sacrifices, his life and death struggle with an Anaconda, his strange escape- might have been the product of a hallucination induced by fruit he ate when facing starvation.
